Founded in 1980 by two golf professionals; René Noël and Gilles Gareau, in the hopes to increase their purchasing power and compete with big box golf retailers in Canada. The BPG Co-operative now represents over 200 pro-shops from across the country, in a mixture of public, semi-private, private and resort facilities.
BPG is a network of dynamic, competent and innovative golf professionals working together towards the common goal of growing the game in Canada.
As of 2005, Boutiques Pro Golf recognized the growth opportunity from allowing what is referred to as ‘’club owned’’ pro-shops to join its group. Clubs from coast to coast jumped on board to not only augment the purchasing power of the group but to benefit from the rebates, payment discounts, centralized billing and other services. This allowed Boutiques Pro Golf to reach the mark of 175 facilities and members.
In 2022, the existing shareholders of Boutiques Pro Golf voted unanimously to transition the Canadian corporation into a cooperative. The cooperative was implemented to bring about unity, strength and transparency within the membership and operations.
BPG now represents over 200 pro-shops from across the country, in a mixture of public, semi-private, private and resort facilities.
